1980s Ep2: Dead & Buried
Friday Dec 09, 2022
Friday Dec 09, 2022
Welcome to Potter's Bluff!
This week's review sees us venture into Gary Sherman's 1981 small town horror Dead & Buried where outsiders are burnt alive, harpooned, chased down and rocked. Nice. If you're a lover of Stephen King and The Twilight Zone, this claustrophobic horror will really appeal to you. Not convinced? Well, dive in and listen to Craig and Boff wade through blood, mist and some very strange goings on over at Potter's Bluff.
This week's episode was suggested by Kathryn Olvera. You can find more about Kathryn via her very cool blog: https://www.livingdeadlaptop.com/

1980s Ep1: The Changeling
Friday Nov 25, 2022
Friday Nov 25, 2022
We kick off our new season with the 1980 horror classic The Changeling starring George C Scott as the most unperturbed resident of a haunted house in movie history. The movie was suggested by Danni Vinson, horror aficionado. Thanks, Danni! If you’re interested in reading Danni’s reviews of horror books and movies, you can find her on Twitter: @luna13darke and Instagram: @luna13darke.
Finally, apologises for some of the background audio noise during Boff’s sections. Though it sounds like Leatherface was nearby, it was in fact a leaf blower. We contemplated stopping recording, but after several false starts in the past, we decided regardless of when we tried to record this review, some supernatural force would hinder its birth. We hope it doesn’t spoil the episode too much.

Bonus Episode: The Many Ghosts of the Deep.
Sunday Nov 13, 2022
Sunday Nov 13, 2022
Today is Craig's 50th birthday! Yes, he's nearly as old as Jack Palance was in City Slickers. To celebrate, he's hijacked the podcast and is doing something he's never done before - Craig is going to read one of his short stories titled The Many Ghosts of the Deep. That's right. After twenty plus years of writing, several novels and short story collections published, he's never read anything aloud. So go easy on him. He's getting old now and his heart won't take the abuse. Is that enough old jokes? Maybe.
Are you ready to have your bones and skin chilled? Well, strap your ears in because there's going to be ghosts, monsters and lots of water.
Stay scared, folks.

John Carpenter’s Halloween (1978)
Monday Oct 31, 2022
Monday Oct 31, 2022
It’s Halloween and bonus episode time! To celebrate the spookiest night in the calendar, Craig and Boff are going deep into John Carpenter’s original classic, as well as addressing the whole clusterf*@k franchise, a task that ends with Craig swearing… a lot. So, strap in, Shatner up, light the pumpkins, and whatever you do, don’t offer to babysit!

1970s Bonus Episode: Vamp
Friday Sep 30, 2022
Friday Sep 30, 2022
Just when you thought it was safe to stop listening to Session 10, we bring you an extra bonus episode where Craig and Boff run through an A to Z of horror movies from the 1970s they couldn’t get around to reviewing. You’ll also hear Craig castigate Netflix, Ed Sheeran, Marvel and anyone who loves musicals. In additional to all this you’ll also find out why the TV show Lost left Boff lost, and talk of Craig’s Jaws dildo story! So, slip on your headphones, crank up the volume, and settle in for the usual rapport between two irregular guys talking about regular horror movies.

1970s Ep10: Salem’s Lot
Friday Sep 23, 2022
Friday Sep 23, 2022
We've reached our first milestone: 10 episodes! And it's also our final deep dive into the horror movies of the 1970s. What better way to end this decade than Craig and Boff driving a bloody stake straight through the heart of the Stephen King adaptation of Salem's Lot by Tobe Hopper. So prepare to hear scratching on your bedroom window, and plenty of hissing from the shadows, because it'll mean either Boff has lost his house keys again, or it's vampires coming to suck your blood!

1970s Ep9: Dawn of the Dead
Friday Sep 16, 2022
Friday Sep 16, 2022
This week we review the movie Craig watched on his 10th birthday party. No, not Howard the Duck or Star Wars. Instead, it was the 1978 George A Romero definite zombie flick, Dawn of the Dead. Because Boff is a fast zombie lover, the question will be can Craig covert Boff into loving slow zombies with grey/blue faces shuffling around a mall while being picked off by Roger, Peter, Fran and Stephen? The only way you’ll find out is by jumping into a blue boiler suit, sliding down your banister rail, and settling in for an exploration into a consumerism-driven zombie classic.

1970s Ep8: Rabid
Friday Sep 09, 2022
Friday Sep 09, 2022
This week Craig and Boff talk about a phallic object bursting through a porn actress’s armpit. No, they’ve not crossed into some weird fetish podcast. All will be explained in this week’s episode where Session 10 takes a chunk out of your day to infest your ears with David Cronenberg’s 1977 horror flick, Rabid, a vampire/zombie story starring Marilyn Chambers as the victim of a botched up operation that has given her a thirst for blood. Stream it on Apple Podcast, Spotify, Amazon Music and Podbean. Don’t forget to review and subscribe!

1970s Ep7: Burnt Offerings
Friday Sep 02, 2022
Friday Sep 02, 2022
This week’s horror movie is 1976’s Burnt Offerings starring a sweaty bare-chested Oliver Reed, a domesticated and prematurely ageing Karen Black, and anguished Bette Davis. Never seen it? Don’t worry. We’ll be your guide throughout this holiday nightmare where we see Reed don a white sports jacket and play a dad slowly losing his mind as he attempts to keep the family unit together, much like Chevy Chase in National Lampoon’s Vacation. This is one trip not to be missed as Craig and Boff explore the dark landscape of this classic haunted house story, as well as shoe-horning in a few silly detours along the way. Bon voyage!

1970s Ep6: Deep Red
Friday Aug 26, 2022
Friday Aug 26, 2022
Buongiorno, Sessionites! It’s 1975, the year of Jaws, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Kiss of the Tarantula, and Shivers. But screw that lot because it was also the year Dario Argento unleashed the definite Giallo classic, Deep Red, also known as The Hatchet Murders, and more commonly in its Italian form, Profondo Rosso! David Hemmings stars as the hapless emasculated musician who ends up investigating a series of gruesome murders. So it also seems right that Craig and Boff don long back trench coats, slip into a pair of black leather gloves, apply mascara, sharpen their razor blades, and paint this week’s EPIC podcast blood red as they go deep into what is probably the best of Argento’s horror/thriller canon.
